Aubrey took a class on making chain maille.   It looks rather tedious to me, but she is having fun with it.

My mom came over this weekend to make gingerbreak houses with the kids.  Dh and I went shopping–because that seemed much less stressful and more peaceful!    I tried to stay away until I was quite sure they’d had enough time to complete the project.  I DID find some frosting in some weird places and apparently there were candy pieces all over the floor at one time, but their masterpieces turned out pretty cute.

It isn’t a good idea to sled belly/face first down a flight of cement steps.

Sigh.  If only I could think of all the things to tell them NOT to do before they’ve thought of it.  I suffer from a failure of imagination.    Just the other day it was please don’t lasso the ceiling fan and then turn it on.  

We’ve been studying bacteria/fungi and did experiments with yeast today.    This one was going a bit too well for Alex’s comfort level.
